SerraMel Oak Tree Honey

300 gram jar - Penamacor, Portugal

Oak Tree honey from Serra da Malcata Natural Reserve in central Portugal.  Classified as a Honeydew honey, the honey comes from the acorn buds and bees do their work in June and july every year in the oak forests of the northern slopes of the Malcata mountain range, along the Coa River.

The rich, dark color and matching flavor of this tree honey is hard to beat.  Thick and liquidy, it's a perfect complement to a Spanish cheese plate, or drizzled on top of your Deviled Dates.
