Marinated Flank Steak Recipe

This is a terrific, tangy marinade for grilled meat or chicken. We love this marinated flank steak with a simple plate of rice and a green vegetable. Easy, quick to mix, the quality of the soy sauce makes all the difference. The sesame oil and the ginger are key ingredients as well.

Directions:
1. Mix the soy with the ketjap manis and add the muscovado sugar.

2. Add the remaining ingredients, mixing together.

3. Add the chile flakes or any pepper flakes to the mix. Doesn't really add a lot of heat, but does add a kick to the flavor

4. "Fork" the meat. Punch a bunch of holes with a fork on both sides.

5. Place the meat in a zip lock bag and pour the marinade in. Massage meat and work the marinade in. Let rest in refrigerator for a couple of hours. Turning and massaging a couple of times before cooking.

6. Grill with medium heat. Or broil the steak in a pan covered with aluminum foil. (a sticky mess burned on to the pan is not what you want to clean later!)
