Believed to have originaed in central China, the yuzu is believed to be a hybrid between a mandarin orange and the ichang papeda. Looking somewhat like a small grapefruit with uneven skin (like a citron), it can vary in color from yellow to green. Common ingredient in Japanese cuisine, the yuzu flavor is tart and uniquely fragrent - and very distinctly yuzu.
