Holiday Cranberry Bread Recipe - Ann (2020)

Ann Cranberry Bread!

I asked, and lots of thinking could be heard, then Ann said she would love to share a recipe, "Let me think about it".

The next day she said "I know, I’ll make cranberry bread, I have been making it since high school. Do you need it typed out or can I send a pic of the recipe?"

And then she made the bread that night and sent a pic in the morning. (I wonder why I didn't get any bread???)

Cranberry Bread

1. Zest 1 orange and set aside.

2. Squeeze juice from orange, and add enough boiling water to make 3/4 cup.  Stir in butter to melt.

3. In a separate bowl, combine egg and sugar - and mix well.  Then add orange mixture. Add cranberries and chopped walnuts.

4. In separate bowl, sift together flour, salt and baking soda. Add dry ingredients to orange juice mixture.

5. Spoon dough into buttered 9x5 loaf pan, and bake at 325 degrees for an hour.

6. Let cool and remove from loaf pan

Add chopped pecans for topping or into the batter
