1/2 cup ketjap manis (Indonesian sweet soy sauce)1/8 cup soy sauce1/8 cup dark muscovado sugar
2 gloves of garlic - peeled and minced
Although you can use it like a BBQ sauce, you can also use it as a sweet condiment for rice and non-grilled meats.
Directions:
1.Place ketjap manis and soy sauce in a small sauce pan.
2. Warm until bubbly. Turn heat down.
3. Add sugar, garlic and ginger, and simmer until sugar is well melted, and ginger's flavor has integrated into the sauce - about 10 minutes - will thicken.
Spread on chicken before grilling, or spoon over cooked rice to give it that sweet savory flavor.
Also makes a great steak sauce and marinade.
