I've been making Panforte di Siena for many years, the recipe for which traveled with my Dad's grandparents from Lucca in Tuscany, in northern Italy. It's a chore, albeit a satisfying one! So, I was very pleased to see the several variations of panforte available here on ChefShop. After totaling up the price of orange, lemon and citron peel, sage honey, toasted hazelnuts and almonds, unsweetened chocolate, lemon, orange and almond extract, a bit of flour, you can quickly see that the prices here for a 12.5 oz. round are quite reasonable. And, you don't need to buy a candy thermometer and learn what "softball stage" means when cooking honey & sugar! Additionally, I am very impressed with ChefShop's shipping speed, accuracy and care in packaging, and by their overall level of customer service.
