Basic Chai Tea Recipe
the starting point

This homemade chai tea recipe makes a cup plus. This is just a starting point. Add star anise to protect from influenza and black pepper for digestion and mind clarity.

ingredients:

1 1/2 cup Water

2 to 4 green cardamom pods - relieves indigestion and stimulates appetite for life

2 to 3 cloves - freshens your breath, reduces pains

1 cinnamon stick - boost digestion and regulates blood sugar

2 to 3 slices of ginger - stimulates circulation & sweating or pinches of ginger powder - stimulates digestion & helps reduce body pains

2 teaspoons of Assam black tea (or choose a black tea that can withstand boiling)

2 1/2 teaspoons sugar or to taste or coconut sugar or jaggery

3/4 cup of milk

equipment:
A heavy bottom sauce pan

instructions:

#1: Put water, tea and spices in the pan and bring to a rolling boil.

#2: Add sugar and Tea

#3: Bring to a boil again. Turning the liquid in the pan continuously.

#4: Add milk and bring to a boil again. Turning the liquid in the pan continuously.

#5: Strain of the spices and pour into a cup
