Moroccan Lamb Tagine with Dates Recipe


Directions:

1. In a large pot or tagine, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

2. Brown the lamb on all sides, then remove and set aside.


3. In the same pot, sauté the onion and garlic until softened.


4. Add the ginger, cinnamon, cumin, salt, and pepper.


5. Return the lamb to the pot and pour in enough water to cover.

6. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 1.5-2 hours, until the lamb is tender.


7. Add the chopped dates and date syrup, stir, and let simmer for another 15-20 minutes.


Garnish with toasted almonds and fresh cilantro before serving.
