This dark panforte from Marabissi is exceptionally good. Using dried cherries and pepperoncino instead of the more common orange, lemon and citron peel, this panforte is dusted with powdered cocoa in lieu of powdered sugar, making it slightly less sweet than traditional panforte di Siena. The pepper "bite" is quite light and should not dissuade anyone from trying it. A wonderful treat for anyone who loves panforte.
