Beans with Sausages Recipe
This simple and easy recipe takes the planning of soaking the beans and then everything else is fast to do. Get the wonderful smells when cooking to fill the home and get your beans too!
1. Place the drained beans in a pan, add water to cover and add the celery, one of the garlic cloves, and one of the sage leaves.
2. Cover and bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 2 to 3 hours until cooked. Add more hot water if necessary to keep the beans covered
3. Drain well and keep warm
4. Heat the oil in a skillet, add the remaining garlic clove, crushed
5. Add sage leaf, and cook for a few minutes
6. Pierce the sausages a couple of times with a fork and add to the skillet and cook until lightly browned all over
7. Sprinkle the wine and cook until it has evaporated
8. Add the drained beans and add to the pan
9. Cover and cook over medium heat for 30 minutes
10. Remove the lid and cook until the excess liquid has boiled off
11. Season with salt and pepper, mix well and transfer to a warm serving dish.
