Bacon and Tarbais Bean Recipe


8 ounces of French Tarbais Beans

1.5 litres of water - 6 cups

pinch of baking soda

1 bay leaf

1 small onion peeled and cut in half

3 garlic cloves whole

1 carrot diced

2 to 3 pieces of thick-cut bacon diced into pieces

Bacon and Tarbais Beans

This is a simple and easy recipe. It's the beans that make it wonderful.


#1: Put everything in a big pot and bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer.

#2: Cook partially covered for at least one hour and up to two hours. Waiting for the beans to become tender.

#3: Serve warm, mostly drained and salt to taste each serving. Save the liquid for other things, like to make soup.
