Bulgar Wheat Pilaf Recipe

Bulgar Wheat is so quick and easy to make. Bulgar pilaf makes a wonderful whole grain side to meat or chicken dishes. Much healthier than white rice or couscous.

1 cup Bulgar Wheat
3-1/2 cups More Than gourmet chicken stock
4-5 green onions (or wild ramps) - sliced thin
2 cloves hard-neck garlic - minced
rice bran oil for cooking
sea salt and tellicherry pepper to taste
Lemon Olive Oil to finish

1. place large skillet with 2-3 tablespoons of rice bran oil and heat.

2. saute onions and garlic together, being careful not to burn them. Add bulgar, and saute until all the oil is absorbed. Be careful not to burn the bulgar.

3. Carefully add the chicken stock, and stir until bulgar is evenly mixed with the stock. Tun off heat and cover for 5 minutes, until all the liquid is absorbed.

4. Fluff with a spoon and add sea salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately, with a drizzle of lemon olive oil.
