75 g softened butter - 5 tablespoons75 g castor sugar - 3 oz50 g plain flour - 2 ozegg white from 1 large egg75 g finally chopped, blanched almonds - 3 ozTo finish;Powdered sugar for dusting
Directions:1. Pre-heat oven to 350° f - butter or parchment paper for 2 baking sheets2. In a bowl with the butter and sugar, and beat well until pale and fluffy3. Sift the flower over the egg whites and mix, then stir into the butter mixture.4. Add and stir in the almonds.5. Add by the teaspoon the batter to the baking sheets. Allow ample room for the batter to spread.6. Bake about 6 to 8 minutes until the edges are browned but not the center. 7. Remove from the oven and let cool for a moment and then transfer to a rolling pin or round item and let them curl until cool enough to hold their shape.Use different structures to cool on to create interesting shapes. When cool store in airtight container. Dust with powdered sugar befor serving.
