Moon & Star Berries Smoothie Recipe
A perfect way to get a little of that healthful cocoa powder into your morning smoothie routine. This homemade chocolate berry smoothie recipe is perfect for the early summer when the mango and strawberries are just coming into the market. Frozen or fresh fruit works just fine.
This homemade chocolate berry smoothie recipe is courtesy of Gabriel Constans, Luscious Chocolate Smoothies (Libertary Editions, 2010). You can use any sort of milk (cow, soy, goat, almond, or rice), with any amount of fat that you prefer. Gabriel usually recommends low-fat, but I'm an avid high-fat consumer, I must admit.
I prefer pasture-fed whole cows milk and yogurt - Additionally, recipe makes 4 cups which is more than enough for one person. If serving fewer, just cut the recipe in half.
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in a blender and mix on medium for 90 seconds.
2. Pour into tall glasses and serve with slices of just about anything.
Yield: 4 cups
