ChefShop Events 2026: Tastings & In-Store Food Experiences in Seattle

In 2026, ChefShop invites you to taste, explore, and celebrate great food with us in Seattle. Throughout the year, we host a rotating calendar of in-store events—from olive oil tastings and themed chocolate experiences to meet-the-maker chocolate events and our famous annual Taste of the Cakes. Whether you’re discovering new ingredients, meeting the people behind the products, or simply sampling something delicious while you shop, our events are designed to foster connection in our amazing community of food-lovers.

Saturday, January 17 - Olio Nuovo Tasting

Stop by during store hours to taste the freshest, greenest olive oils of the year! We'll have them up on the Flavor Bar for sampling all day. 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, February 8 - Valentine's Day Chocolate Tasting

Get inspired with chocolate gifts for your honey, your bestie, or yourself! We'll be tasting bean-to-bar chocolate that's sweet, spicy, or both! 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Thursday, October 1 – Meet the Makers Chocolate Tasting

Don't miss our 4th annual Meet the Makers event, where we welcome bean-to-bar chocolate makers into the shop to share their chocolate and their stories.

Friday - Sunday, November 27 - 29 – Taste of the Cakes

Our biggest event of the year! We'll have a spread of all our favorite Panettone, Panforte, Fruitcake, and more holiday treats for sampling. ⁠10:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday

How to Attend ChefShop Events

All ChefShop Seattle events are free, unless otherwise noted. No tickets or reservations needed—just drop in during event hours.

The ChefShop Flavor Bar—Daily Tastings in Seattle

You don’t need to plan around an event to taste something special at ChefShop. Our in-store Flavor Bar is open every day, inviting you to sample a curated mix of ingredients that show what great sourcing and craftsmanship can deliver. Expect a standing selection of standout olive oils, along with a rotating cast of featured tastes—think exquisite Italian balsamic vinegars, craft chocolate, and pantry favorites.

Drop in whenever you’re shopping and take a moment to taste, compare, and discover. Flavor Bar tastings are always complimentary and available whenever the shop is open—no reservations needed.

FAQ

Do I need tickets or reservations?
No. Our events are free unless noted—just drop in during event hours.

Is there parking?
Yes—there are a few spots on the south side of the shop, plus additional free parking in the Elliott Junction gravel lot just north of the shop.

Can I shop during the event?
Yes. The shop is fully open during events. If you're looking for help with something we're not sampling, just ask!

Are events family-friendly?
Yes! Kids are welcome. Please supervise little tasters.

Our favourite cocoa I have 8 varieties of cocoa at home -- red cocoa, black cocoa, natural cocoa, and several high-end specialty cocoas (Barry Extra Brut, Valrhona, Guittard, Ghirardelli...). My family goes through enormous quantities of cocoa powder -- for hot cocoa, brownies, chocolate cakes, cookies... and this is by far our favourite. It has depth, complexity, and richness. While the specialty cocoas are excellent, I find they can sometimes be quite bitter, lack richness or body. This one is always perfect for whatever we are making. And being in Canada, I go to great lengths to buy this cocoa -- that should tell you how much we love it! - Monika
