Holiday Baking Event: Taste, Compare & Get Ready to Bake - November 7, 2026
Share
Holiday baking season is almost here. Before you start measuring, mixing, melting, and making, come taste your way through some of the ingredients that can make this year's cookies, cakes, candies, and homemade kitchen gifts even better.
Join us at ChefShop Seattle for our Holiday Baking Event, an afternoon designed for home bakers who love discovering exceptional ingredients—and want to find just the right ones for their holiday plans.
We'll have ingredients open and ready to taste, plenty of ideas to explore, and the ChefShop team on hand to help you hatch your holiday bonanza. Whether you're planning a once-a-year showstopper, baking cookies by the dozen, dipping homemade confections, or filling gift boxes for friends and family, this is your chance to taste before you choose.
Taste the Chocolate
We'll have a selection of couverture and baking chocolates from Felchlin and Valrhona available for tasting, with different cacao percentages and formats to compare.
Tasting them side by side is a great way to explore the differences between milk, dark, ultra-dark, and white chocolates—and think about what will work best in your brownies, cakes, cookies, ganache, truffles, candies, and other holiday creations.
Not All Sugar Tastes the Same
Explore our collection of specialty sugars and sweeteners, including demerara sugar, Japanese crushed brown sugar, hail sugar, Steen's Pure Cane Syrup, Lyle's Golden Syrup, and other harder-to-find options.
Some bring caramel and molasses notes. Some change texture. Some add sparkle and crunch. Some may inspire a recipe you hadn't planned on making at all.
Cocoa, Spices, Extracts & More
We'll also be exploring more favorites from the ChefShop baking pantry, including our famous ChefShop Cocoa Powder and richer, darker ChefShop Grande Brut Cocoa Powder, along with spices, extracts and flavorings, specialty flours, baking decorations, and other ingredients you won't necessarily find in the supermarket baking aisle.
If you've wondered which cocoa to use for your favorite chocolate cake, wanted to experiment with a different vanilla or citrus extract, needed an unusual sugar for a family recipe, or simply wanted to see what serious bakers keep in their pantries, this is the afternoon to explore.
Bring your holiday baking list—or come looking for ideas. Taste, compare, ask questions, and head into baking season with a pantry you're excited to use.
