100% Italian grown Organic Khorasan Wheat - closely related to the Kamut Wheat variety, but grown in Italy.

Sgambaro BIO Khorasan Spaghetti No 5 Organic Pasta

from Veneto, Italy - 500 grams

Kamut (r) vs Khorasan wheat: According to the Baker's Journal, "Kamut is actually a very old variety of khorasan wheat and a registered trademark owned by Kamut International. The organization was founded by Montana farmer Bob Quinn to protect the genetic purity of the heirloom variety of khorasan wheat."

As Sgambaro is dedicated to minimizing their environmental impact by, for example, only using Italian grown wheat, this pasta is made from the ancient Khorasan variety of wheat that is 1005 grown near their grainery and pasta facility in Northan Italy.

Our favourite cocoa I have 8 varieties of cocoa at home -- red cocoa, black cocoa, natural cocoa, and several high-end specialty cocoas (Barry Extra Brut, Valrhona, Guittard, Ghirardelli...). My family goes through enormous quantities of cocoa powder -- for hot cocoa, brownies, chocolate cakes, cookies... and this is by far our favourite. It has depth, complexity, and richness. While the specialty cocoas are excellent, I find they can sometimes be quite bitter, lack richness or body. This one is always perfect for whatever we are making. And being in Canada, I go to great lengths to buy this cocoa -- that should tell you how much we love it! - Monika
