This bar showcases cacao grown at Ua Hanai Orchards in Hilo, on the lush eastern side of Hawai‘i’s Big Island. Valley Isle Chocolate transforms these fully Hawaiian-grown beans into a 70% dark chocolate on Maui, capturing the character of the islands from tree to bar.

When tasting this chocolate, the first thing I notice is its creamy, gentle melt. The flavor opens with rich cocoa notes, followed by a light caramel sweetness and a soft nuttiness that rounds everything out. It’s a beautifully balanced bar—deeply chocolatey, but smooth and perhaps a little too easy to keep going back to.

For me, this bar is a wonderful introduction to the flavor of Hawai‘i-grown cacao—warm, balanced, and satisfying.
