Inspired by lulada, a traditional beverage made with fresh lulo fruit, this bar reimagines that vibrant flavor in chocolate form, pairing creamy white chocolate with the electric citrus lift of lulo.
The cacao butter used in this bar comes from Tumaco, a coastal region known for its beaches, mangroves, and deep Afro-Colombian cultural roots. Tumaco cacao butter is prized for its smoothness and clean flavor, making it an ideal canvas for highlighting bright fruit notes without heaviness.
Lulo, sometimes described as tasting like a cross between pineapple, kiwi, and passion fruit, brings a tart, aromatic complexity that cuts beautifully through the richness of the white chocolate. Freeze-dried lulo is blended into the bar for clarity of flavor, while finely ground lulo seeds add a subtle crunch, echoing the texture of the fresh fruit and giving the bar an unexpected, lively finish.

As with all KARÜ bars, Lulada 37% is made entirely at origin. After sourcing and sun-drying at the farm level, cacao butter is processed bean-to-bar in Bogotá, where KARÜ oversees roasting, refining, tempering, and molding in small batches. The lulo is added just before molding to preserve its brightness and aromatic intensity.
