Candy coated almonds are the ones I look forward to most! Not to be confused with your run-of-the-mill â€œJordanâ€ almonds, PÃ©cou sugar coats these special Italian almonds to seal in the crispness before adding the exterior of sugar. It is this attention to quality and detail that makes these almond dragees the very best they can be.

About Maison Pecou

Founded in 1880 by Ernest Pecou, Maison Pecou has been making magical, whimsical and just plain delicious chocolates and candies for over 100 years. Five generations of french confectioners, if you use dragees to decorate you cupcakes, chances are they are made by Maison Pecou. They specialize in candy coated almonds - also called "Jordan Almonds". Although, in my experience, 10 times better than the average jordan almond found here in the US.

Our favourite cocoa I have 8 varieties of cocoa at home -- red cocoa, black cocoa, natural cocoa, and several high-end specialty cocoas (Barry Extra Brut, Valrhona, Guittard, Ghirardelli...). My family goes through enormous quantities of cocoa powder -- for hot cocoa, brownies, chocolate cakes, cookies... and this is by far our favourite. It has depth, complexity, and richness. While the specialty cocoas are excellent, I find they can sometimes be quite bitter, lack richness or body. This one is always perfect for whatever we are making. And being in Canada, I go to great lengths to buy this cocoa -- that should tell you how much we love it! - Monika
