Peach Flavored Syrups Recipe

Cook Mode (Keep screen awake)

Adapted from a recipe from the cookbook, How to Pick a Peach. By Russ Parsons. A wonderful read that talks about food, where it comes from, and recipes too.

ingredients:

1 cup of water

1/2 cup sugar

Rose geranium (2 tablespoons chopped fresh leaves)

4 peaches, pitted and sliced into three three-quarter inch wedges - about 2 1/2 cups.

directions:

1. In a small saucepan, whisk the water and sugar over high heat until the sugar isn't suspension and no longer on the bottom of the pan.

2. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook until all the sugar is dissolved, about five minutes. Be sure to bring to a boil.

3. Remove the pan from the heat and add the rose geranium leaves. Let this steep for at least 10 minutes.

4. Add the peaches to a large bowl

5. Ladle the warm syrup through a strainer over the fruit and serve
