non-stick cooking spray or Rice Bran Oil - for coating baking pan or parchement paper

1 3/4 cups graham cracker crumbs or Effies Biscuits along with or Volo cookies

1/2 cup butter, melted / 113 grams

1 can of Sweetened Condensed Milk (Eagle Brand works best)

1 cup bitter-sweet chocolate chips (cru sauvage is a good choice or a mix of all kind chocolates) / 125 grams

1 1/3 cup flaked unsweetened coconut / 55 grams

1 cupped chopped nuts (walnuts work really well because they are soft, or use chocolate with nuts and candied fruit, or a mix of nuts like Fastachi Nut Mix - making an easy recipe even easier - no chopping necessary!)

equipment:

13 x 9 baking dish - butter or rice bran oil, or sprayed with cooking spray, parchment paper

Magic 7 Layer Cookie Basic Recipe

Easy to make and tastes great

Take this recipe from the label (Bordens Eagle Brand of sweetened condensed milk) and change out the graham crackers with any of the Effie's Biscuits and make it much better. You can also mix Effie's Biscuits with the graham crackers and still get the flavor, plus the extra crunch. The Pecan Cakes are perfect; the Oatcakes are always great to crumble on a fruit crisp, and the Cocoa Cakes work perfectly with chocolate recipes.

instructions:

#1: Heat the oven to 350º F. Butter the 13x9 inch baking pan or use parchment paper

#2: Combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in a bowl. Press into the bottom of the backing dish.

#3: Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crumb mixture.

#4: Layer the coconut, chocolate and nuts over the condensed milk. Press down the mixture with a fork.

#5: Bake 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown. There will be a change in the smell as you bake it -- that is a good time to pull from the oven.

#6: Cool the pan on a wire rack or the stove top. Run a knife around the edge to release from the sides. Cut when cool into perfect shapes of your choice.

#7: Eat. Warning it is possible to eat the whole thing!
