This holiday cake is dense, sweet and packed with candied fruits like citron, melon and orange, and toasted nuts like almonds and hazelnuts, and a blend of spices. The Margherita is the most traditional version of Panforte. Usually made with candied fruit and nuts, covered in powdered sugar, and served in small wedges with Vin Santo or espresso.
