Reed Avocados
We had our first taste of these wonderful avocados last night & what a mouth watering experience! They are not only large, but oh so creamy & buttery. I'm so glad I ordered these and will do so every year. I never knew avocados could be this good.

I never knew what avocados really tasted like...
... until I had these. I have to be honest, these will spoil you for anything you buy at your local supermarket. For one glorious time of year, we plan our meals around these big guys. Breakfast - scrambled eggs rolled up in a tortilla with a couple of slices of Reed avocado. Lunch -- a couple more slices with some salty bacon and fresh tomato on a sandwich. Dinner -- maybe just a half of one, some salt and a spoon. I can't bring myself to make guacamole with them, because I don't want to cover up any of their flavor, though I suppose a simple guac with some salt, lime and cilantro wouldn't be a crime.

Avocados are grown and sent directly from Southern California. So, if you are shipping these babies to a location East of the Mississippi River, they will be shipped via expedited shipping.

(We will remove any shipping charges if they appear on the final order if the order only includes avocados.)

Additional shipping info:
Avocados are shipped directly from the grower in Southern California. To avoid unnecessary shipping fees due to additional weight, please order avocados separately from other, non-perishable products.

Storing and Ripening:
Your Reed avocados will be hard when they arrive. We recommend you store them in the fridge, and bring them out one at a time to ripen/soften on your kitchen counter. It will take 2-4 days before they are ready to eat, depending on the avocado. You will know they are ready - they become soft to the touch and give when you press them lightly. Reeds do not turn black like Hass avocados.

There are so many ways to eat and serves these great fruits, outside of just spooning the meat straight into your mouth. Here are a few suggestions:

For Gift Orders:
During the holiday season, PDF Fruit Certificates as emailed to purchaser within 24-48 hours of ordering. the certificate indicates to whom the cherries are being sent, as well as who the gift is from. If there is not a separate ship-to name and address, the "to" section of the certificate will be left blank, so that you can fill it out however you wish. If you need us to mail a physical certificate to the gift recipient, please let us know.
