Simple Ketjap Manis BBQ Sauce Recipe

One of Tim's favorite sauces. Although you can use it like a BBQ sauce, Tim often uses it as a sweet condiment for rice and non-frilled meats.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup ketjap manis

1/8 cup dark muscovado sugar

 2 gloves of garlic - peeled and minced

 1-2 inches of fresh ginger - washed and sliced lengthwise

Directions:

Place ketjap manis is a small sauce pan. Warm until short of boiling. Add sugar, garlic and ginger, and simmer until sugar is well melted, and ginger's flavor has integrated into the sauce - about 10 minutes - until nicely thick.

2.Spread on chicken before grilling, or spoon over cooked rice to give it that sweet savory flavor. Also makes a great steak sauce and marinade.
