Moon & Star Berries Smoothie Recipe A perfect way to get a little of that healthful cocoa powder into your morning smoothie routine. Perfect for the early summer when the mango and strawberries are just coming into the market. Smoothie recipe courtesy of Gabriel Constans, Luscious Chocolate Smoothies (Libertary Editions, 2010) You can use any sort of milk (cow, soy, goat, almond, or rice), with any amount of fat that you prefer. Gabriel usually recommends low-fat, but I'm an avid high-fat consumer, I must admit. I prefer pasture-fed whole cows milk and yogurt - as grass-fed milk and yogurt is just healthier for you (Like Maple Hill Creamery - who's milk takes me back to my childhood -- when I guess we all drank real, pasture-fed milk... Go figure!). Additionally, recipe makes 4 cups which is more than enough for one person. If serving fewer, just cut recipe in half. ingredients:
2 cups soy, rice, almond, hemp or cows milk (preferably pasture-fed. Ideally unsweetened and organic, and ideally from your local dairy.) 1 8-ounce carton of strawberry yogurt (or plain or vanilla. Again, pasture-fed preferred) 1/2 cup chopped mango 1 banana - in chunks 10 strawberries 1/4 cup raspberries 2 tablespoons ChefShop Cocoa Powder - dutch processed directions: 1.
