Basic Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe

This is the most basic of ice cream recipes. We have found that Pernigotti cocoa makes a great chocolate ice cream.

Ingredients:
3 egg yolks
1 cup India Tree Superfine Caster Sugar
1 1/2 cup whole milk (Ideally gress-fed from your local dairy.  The better the milk -- the better the ice cream, right?)
2 cups cream or milk (Ditto)
1/3 cup ChefShop Cocoa Powder
1 teaspoon Heilala 2x Bourbon Vanilla Extract

Directions:
1) In a saucepan, beat milk and egg yolks together.
2) Blend in the sugar
3) Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Enough so to stick the spoon.
4) Remove from the heat and sift in the cocoa powder slowly
5) Beat until well blended
6) Cool in the refrigerator, about 30 minutes
7) Add additional milk or cream and vanilla. Mix well and freeze or add to ice cream maker.
8) Stir every 5 minutes for the next 20 minutes (if not using an ice cream maker)
9) Freeze overnight or at least 30 minutes before consuming it all!
